迭戈-莱昂是巴拉圭一颗冉冉升起的新星，在17岁的年纪，他已经成为了国内豪门波特诺山丘的重要球员。

在2024年赛季，迭戈-莱昂为波特诺山丘出场了19次打进2球，曼联已经注意到这位左后卫的巨大潜力，计划签下他补强防线。
